*To note: My podcast episodes will temporarily not be available on any of my other platforms. I for now will just be posting on Substack. This is in effort to reduce public access. This makes me feel safe. In this podcast episode here, I will be talking about self-defense strategies as well, so keep listening.

I had to shut my Instagram account down from public to private. How in the heck do you keep the creepy weirdos out of your account? The stalkers, the sex salespeople, the catfish. I don’t think there is a way to keep them out besides putting your account to private and then approving them. But unfortunately, regular people are denied of my creative light. Nobody can see my silk fan action or my tutorials that I would have been creating. I guess I will have to do some research. For now, I am on lock down.
It is interesting when you think about being watched by someone you don’t want to be watched by. Think about how much information you have out there. What can you lock down? What can you not lock down? It is cathartic to share yourself with the world. It feels good to make someone feel less alone. It’s sad when certain people try to cross your boundaries and then cause you to shrink instead of expanding. I wonder what famous people do on their accounts LOL.
So, my experience on Instagram so far in my new account that focused on artistic selfies and silk fan play has been interesting. Let me explain. My artistic selfies which were burlesque, cabaret, and pin-up style photos. I would be approached by men and women in my DM’s. Just a handful from time to time. Men wanting to get to know me. I would ignore or block. Where I am just playing around and having fun, they see it as an invite. Just like a woman going to a bar in a gorgeous outfit, makeup on point. She is not necessarily there to pick up guys. She could just be dressing for herself. Beauty is seen as an invitation. When in my world it completely is not.
I also have been followed by women who have accounts that look like only-fans hooks. Why would they follow me? Maybe advertising, or they are really guys posing as 25-year-old hot women. I am new to this whole game. I also am followed by the classic burner accounts. You know the type. The 5 photo accounts, where they just use them for prowling the internet and they don’t actually produce any meaningful content. They are the predatory hunter accounts.
I blocked all predatory accounts, only-fans hook accounts, and then set my account to private. This will remain like this until I figure out how people handle all of this. It went from fun to actual work and I wonder if it is actually worth the time. This is greatly reduced my drive to even do my silk fans, because silk fans are performative. I love using them and sharing my performance or practice with people.
I loved learning from fellow silk fan flomies. I feel part of a group. Why do the searchers of internet sex have to win? Fuckers.
What is a creative girl to do? I have so many photography sessions in mind going forward.
Changing topics, the poker party I threw to connect with my dad was an absolute success. I had a blast. We laughed so much. We played 5-card draw and Red Dog. I learned a few things during 5-card draw though. I wanted so bad to play, so I would stay in with a shitty hand, hoping I would get some good cards in the draw. But most of the time when you start with a shitty hand it stays that way. So next time I will fold when the first hand is shit.
The food was amazing. I made my chili, which is a sweet chili. Also put together a poker themed charcuterie board. Pops of color inspired by playing cards: Blackberries, strawberries, white cheese with bits of dark blueberries, black olives, and red sweet peppers. Several items on the board were poker chip shaped: circle crackers, summer sausage, and I made two kinds of cream cheese pinwheels (red pepper jelly and also a black olive / green onion). I put the ranch dipping sauce in a martini glass on the board and also used a tall skinny vintage cocktail glass to house the skinny crunchy garlic bread sticks. Next time I will dip the strawberries in white chocolate instead for more of a poker color and only use white cheeses with pops of poker colors. Something like white cheddar with say red pepper bits. Or champagne cheddar.
The board was well liked. I honestly have a new talent. It is art in the form of food. I feel I am getting better and better with each one.
The party also to note was a non-alcoholic party. I shook some black edible glitter into martini glasses, filled them with fresca and a shot of whatever flavored syrup they wanted. We had lavender, rose, or raspberry. The drink glistened in the sunlight. Super fun! No alcohol required for a great time.
That is all I have, enjoy your Sunday.
Love, Alimoon
