Father's Day 2025

Savor them and savor the memories...

6.15.25

Happy Father's Day everyone! This year just feels more tender. I'm taking more moments in the day to soak up all of the details of the day. I also run through all the memories I have of past Father's Days. Today would be a great day to look at albums, old videos, or your DVD picture slide shows. I used to make those all the time for people I cared about. As the people we love age, it does make us realize that we need to appreciate them while they are here.

I love how this year I am walking through my gardens and seeing the flowers that my Grandma Darlene gave me in full bloom. She lives on in my garden. The other neat thing is how our purged plants are thriving in our nature area behind our fence. Plants given to me by my family members, I wouldn’t want to just throw away. So that is why I opted to use the TOSS IT OVER THE FENCE method. It is an area that has a pond and a small, wooded area. I see pops of color among the tall grasses. There are random peony bushes, irises, and daylilies that are thriving. Again, this was literally just a toss into the wild. Like I was playing horseshoes. No planting involved. Those bad bitches lived LOL.

Today for Father's Day I promised my husband a full body massage using my sister's handmade whipped body butter. It is the best massage butter. I keep pressing her to change the advertising to massage butter but there are so many things we could work on. This is our last priority. But let's make it known here. Ink Flower Scent Co's whipped body butter is DAMN GOOD MASSAGE BUTTER. It a light and fluffy body butter that melts in your hands, so when you spread it across your partner's back it spreads really nice, allowing your hands to glide over the skin. I also want to try and do some of my memory photography today if I can. I had said on a previous post that I wanted to make some beautiful noir photos of my husband and I in the boudoir. Focusing on hand holding, hugs, legs wrapped together. A focus on intimacy in a long-term relationship where you have seen it all and you still come back for more LOL.

Along this theme of photography, I too have been experimenting on my own. Dressing up in pretty dresses, adorning myself with jewelry, wearing a fedora hat, painting my face all pretty -- taking video and then doing screen shots of my motions in front of the lens. I love the process of photography, the ritual of it. Planning the outfit, getting all adorned, moving around to music, capturing the stills, and then doing a bit of editing. I also enjoy sending those pics to my husband to brighten his day. I used to do this all the time. It feels good to get back into it again.

I even was able to create video and pics for my company ad; Our "Little Black Corset" scent needed to be brought to life, and I was the gal to breathe that life into her. We need to have more fun in this life. I'm voting for FUN!!!! WEAR THE CORSET!

I also asked him what he would want to eat today, and he wanted to cook stir fry using our new wok. We had a wok years ago and it got really nasty, so we tossed it. He wants to get back into eating more vegetables, so eating home-made stir fry is perfect! I love making my own sauce with peanut butter, brown sugar, ginger powder, soy sauce, garlic & onion powder, oil, and sesame seeds. If it was just me and my youngest, I would toss in some cayenne but most of my family doesn't like the spice stuff.

I took a few days off from posting to focus on other things and it did feel good to shift my attention towards other creative adventures. Life is a balancing act. I'm enjoying having my hands in different cookie jars again. You could say I am a connoisseur of creative delicacies. They make me feel alive, rejuvenated, and hungry for more. These ventures definitely whetted my appetite.

Last night I made 33 rollerball perfumes or aka scent oils. That was some kind of record for me. Not the actual number of glass containers, but the variety of scents. Lots of pipetting, changing label sheets, and clean up in between each one. I made 5 Little Pink Corset, 5 Heirloom Tomato Vines, 5 You are Exotic, 5 Midnight Rendezvous, 5 Minnesota Lilac, and 8 Vintage Wild. That took me about 2 hours, with a little break to toss in State Fair Corn Dogs in the oven. I was feelin' the need for the corn dogs last night LOL. The process goes fast when you set out with all your labels printed and you are ready to go. My pro-tip is having your labels printed in advance and always label your product as soon as you are done cleaning the container with alcohol on the outside. You would never want to mix up what is in the container. Label it there and then! I treat my Ink Flower work just like my pharmacy work. Be accurate!

That is all I have. May you enjoy the men in your lives that gave you life or made you Mother's. May you remember your fathers that have passed on. Love, Alimoon
